That 'temporary' contract is probably permanent now
The Wet vaste huurcontracten (from 1 July 2024) made permanent contracts the norm again: landlords generally may NOT hand out fixed-term contracts, so a new contract is usually indefinite, giving strong protection against eviction. If a landlord claims your post-July-2024 contract auto-ends, get advice (Juridisch Loket / Woonbond) - it likely converted to permanent. Narrow exceptions still allow max-2-year terms (students, urgent seekers); temporary contracts signed before 1 July 2024 still end as agreed.
