Your annual rent increase is capped - and you can object
Max rent increase for 2026: social 4.1% (from 1 July 2026), mid-rent 6.1% and free-sector 4.4% (from 1 January 2026). Above the cap is not allowed. For social housing the landlord must go to the Huurcommissie if they disagree with your objection; for mid/free-sector YOU must take it to the Huurcommissie within 4 months of the increase date.
