Your fast food or retail job is worth more on paper than you think

People who have worked in fast food or retail routinely undersell it. Written honestly, that work demonstrates: turning up reliably for shifts over months, keeping order accuracy during a rush, following fixed food safety and till procedures exactly, handling cash and being accountable for it, coordinating with a shift team in real time, and dealing with an angry customer without a manager standing there. Dutch employers respect that phrasing because it is concrete and checkable. What NOT to do is inflate it: do not call yourself a leader unless you actually trained or supervised people, and never invent a number you were not given.
