The supplementary grant is a GIFT, not a loan - and far more families qualify than people think
The aanvullende beurs is extra monthly money (up to about 491 eur/month in 2026, hbo/wo) on top of the basic grant, and it converts into a gift you never repay if you graduate within 10 years. Full amount if combined parental income (2 years back) is under about 46,305 eur; partial up to about 63,965 eur - so it reaches middle incomes, and more siblings means more grant. Apply via DUO with your study finance; if you drop out it stays a debt.
