Your GP, midwife and district nurse are 100% free - never skip the doctor over a bill
You have a yearly own-risk (eigen risico) of 385 eur for things like blood tests, hospital and most medicines - but the most-used service, the huisarts (GP), never touches it. GP visits, including the after-hours GP post, are free, so do not avoid the doctor fearing a bill. Also free of eigen risico: midwife and maternity care, district nursing, and chronic-disease care programmes. Under-18s pay no eigen risico at all. You can take a voluntary higher deductible for a premium discount only if you rarely use non-exempt care.
