When your temporary contract turns into a permanent one by law

You get a permanent contract automatically once you have had more than three temporary contracts with the same employer, or once temporary contracts have run for longer than three years. Gaps of six months or less between contracts do not break the chain, so an employer cannot reset the count by leaving you out for a few weeks. For recurring seasonal work the gap is three months. A collective agreement can set different rules.
