You are owed severance from your very first working day
If your employer ends your contract, or does not renew a temporary one, you are owed a transitievergoeding: one third of a month's salary for every full year of service, counted from your first working day. There is no minimum period you have to survive first, and it applies even if you are let go during your probation period. The maximum is EUR 102,000 gross from 1 January 2026, or one gross annual salary if you earn more than that.
