Huurtoeslag: from 2026 there is no maximum rent to be allowed to apply
Many internationals think their rent is too high for rent allowance. From 2026 the rent ceiling to APPLY is gone: your rent can be any amount as long as income and assets qualify (the subsidy is still calculated up to a rent of 932.93 eur/month for 21+). Commonly worth 100-400 eur/month. How: do the proefberekening at toeslagen.nl then apply with DigiD. Conditions (2026): assets per resident max 38,479 eur; must be a self-contained home (own kitchen + toilet); from 2026 only the bare rent counts, not service costs.
