You get 8 percent holiday money on top of your salary

Dutch law gives you vakantiegeld of at least 8 percent of your gross annual salary from the past year, and your employer must pay it out at least once a year. Most people receive it in May or June. It is separate from your paid holiday days and it is on top of your wage, not part of it. The only exception is if you earn more than three times the minimum wage, in which case your employer can agree a lower amount with you in writing.
